What Fincar is used for
FINCAR is for use by men only.
FINCAR is used to treat a medical condition in men called benign prostatic hyperplasia. BPH is a condition where your prostate gland has become bigger. This can lead to symptoms such as:
- weak or interrupted stream of urine
- feeling that you cannot empty your bladder completely
- delay before you start to pass urine
- needing to pass urine often, especially at night
FINCAR is not addictive.
Do not take FINCAR if:
- the packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering
- the expiry date on the pack has passed
Do not give FINCAR to children or women.
Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop.
Some medicines may affect the way other medicines work. However, FINCAR has not been shown to interfere with other medicines.

Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following:
- breast swelling and/or tenderness
- skin rash, itchiness
- hives or nettlerash (pinkish, itchy swellings on the skin)
- testicle pain.
These are uncommon adverse effects that have been reported with Fincar.
Tell your doctor immediately or go to accident and emergency at your nearest hospital if the following happens:
- swelling of the face or lips.
These maybe symptoms of a serious allergic reaction to Fincar which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing. You may need urgent medical attention.
Serious adverse effects are rare.
